Well, enter Jackson Hunt, star hottie of Finding It. This is his novella, telling the tale behind the mystery presented in Kelsey’s book. If you haven’t read Finding It, stop reading here.

Jackson is employed by Kelsey’s father to keep an eye on his wayward daughter while she parties her way around Europe. His story begins as they get on the plane, and I think its fair to say where it ends too – that was one of the main things that I was wondering about. To be honest, I would have loved to read the whole of Finding It from his perspective, but as this was a novella, I didn’t think I’d be so lucky. I wasn’t – the story ends after the roofie incident.

I loved reading about Jackson watching Kelsey and trying to work her out. How he moved from thinking she was a spoiled little girl, to understanding that there is more to her than meets the eye. I loved that although she was the center of attention, he was the only one who really saw her. I think the inclusion of his sketching her was really gorgeous too; as he learns more about her, he understands why his sketches are never quite ‘her’. I also really liked the build up to his proposition to Kelsey, about travelling together. It makes so much more sense now!

Altogether this is a definite ‘must’ read for Cora fans; it adds a lot to the story, and goes a long way to explain Jackson and his actions, which seemed a little mysterious to me in Finding It. Loved it, just (as with all Cora novellas) wish it was longer.

A few months after being honorably discharged from the military, Jackson Hunt is still struggling to adjust back to the real world. He needs to get a job and find a sense of normalcy if he’s going to keep his own demons at bay. The job that falls into his lap, though, is anything but normal.

Bodyguard (and baby-sitter) to spoiled-rich-girl Kelsey Summers isn’t exactly what he’d been looking for, but it’s a chance to travel, to get away from the home that has felt stifling ever since his return. It would be a pretty sweet gig if it weren’t for the fact that Kelsey’s father doesn’t want Kelsey to know she’s being followed. Hunt feels guilty (and a little bit creepy) as he watches her from afar. She’s vibrant and infuriating, exciting and reckless, mysterious and familiar. When he sees her falling into the same patterns that he suffered years ago, he decides it’s time to stop watching and help her instead. But getting to know her is more difficult than he thought, especially because the more he knows her, the more he wants her.
